Specifically, methane, which is a much stronger greenhouse gas than CO2. At least “some” current thinking is that it was the development of rice/irrigated farming that brought the last cold period to an end (rice paddy bacteria pump a lot of methane into the air).

Of course, the greens are using that datum to argue against switching from oil to fracked natural gas due to inevitable pipeline leakage.

FWIW, there is a group of Russian astrophysicists who have been predicting the onset of global cooling due to the current lack of sunspots.

They are wrong as usual. In this case there is less methane leakage because of the pipelines. If it were not for pipelines the methane would be released or partially burned off.
