Any southern name for anything that predates about 1960 is ipso facto racist and Southern and must be eradicated. In ten years I expect that any visible sign that there was a Southern history at all and any references to anything of the southland that is from a time before the RE-RE construction will have disappeared from American discourse. Books from the expunged period or that makes reference to it, even derogatorily, will become less and less available.
I wonder how they'd change theirs, as they're a VERY politically correct university. I'm not sure that Lee's prominent history with Virginia (much less the Confederacy) would be enough.
