I’ve been reading that there was a background story on one of the networks about this “photo shoot”, and in this “making of” video, there is supposedly a clip of Kathy Griffin saying how if (when) people get offended, she can issue a “fake apology” and everything will be fine...

I give Griffin credit for a real apology. None of this 'if anyone was offended' nonsense. At least she admitted (or claimed) that what she did was unacceptable.
I still think this should be career suicide. Some stuff is just beyond the Pale, and she went there. So kudos for the rare (for Libs) real sounding apology, but adios to her career.
