I am very claustrophobic. I even have difficulty with open MRIs. I had to do Xanax last time I did an open one and barely managed that.
I’ve had 3 MRIs. The first was for my knee and I didn’t have to go in all the way. I had another on my shoulder and if I had stayed in the machine much longer I might have lost it. My last one was for my back and I took a Valium which was useless. I decided to just suck it up and keep my eyes shut. I find the worst part is how close the top and sides are to your face.
I had a stereotactic breast biopsy several months ago...
the guys that think this stuff up must be sadistic...
you lie on a table with your boob sticking down thru a hole and the whole table is lifted so the doc can come underneath you and stick a long needle in, then do a bx and then place a little tiny marker...
sounds sadistic doesn't it?...
however, they gave me a 1.5mg dose of Xanax before hand...never had it before....
I slept thru the whole thing and didn't feel anything....
