Sometimes, you’ve got to point things at neighbor’s houses.

We have a very inconsiderate neighbor who has a Great Pyrenees that she lets stay out roaming the neighborhood 24/7/365. It barks at anything that moves, and sometime things that don’t. When a deer or a brisk breeze comes by at 3:00 am, it starts up. The woman won’t shut the damn thing up, and I’ve gone over there several times in the middle of the night to ask her to intervene with no luck. She’s an inconsiderate POS.

So along comes my son who is a Purdue graduate with a degree in astronautical engineering. He designed a sound cannon that sends 200 watts of ultra high frequency sound toward her yard. The cannon is mounted in a tree on my property boundary, and we activate it through our Z-Wave home automation system every time the dog starts barking. So far, it shuts it up every time. In fact, it runs for cover when the system goes off.

I’m actually looking forward to the time she discovers the cannon pointing toward her house.

You actually might be training the thing to shut up. One bark....nothing.

Several barks....Yi yi yi yi! (whimper)

I wonder if I could build something similar that makes my jerk wad neighbor's dog start barking whenever their super loud bass starts rattling our windows.

A ball of ground beef mixed with some D-Con (strychnine) would be a lot cheaper.
