What they do is define the question, and then answer it. Questions that don’t fit their agenda, they redefined then to provide the desired answer, or they just don’t ask the question. Pretty slimy when you think about it.

They are not the “go-to” as the OP defines it. Rather, they are the retreat line for the indefensible.
An intelligent person doesn’t have to look very far to find the bias, something which discredits them wholesale right out the gate.
If the bias exists in one aspect, there is no credibility.
Thus, I smear EVERYONE using them as a source, even if I agree with it.
