True, but most car reviewers were giving the new 8 speed transmission a thumbs up and 0-60 times were slightly faster with the automatic. One of the solutions for the shift problem was to start in manual (paddle shift) mode, switching to automatic after the first run. Regarding squeaks, we’re talking about louder than normal and in mild driving conditions. Standard dealer response is to blow off any brake dust and say “that should do it”.

Brake noise can be a difficult problem to resolve.

Getting all of the parts to have fundamental and overtone frequencies separated from each other (a design problem) can help along with friction material selections and additional damping elements can help.

Brakes should only be used in an emergency which is why a m/t is good as one can get a fair amount of compression braking to avoid hitting the other pedal so frequently. Promotes fuel economy....
