Trump is no sucker.
He’s trying to drag them into the current century.
That may be his intent, but he has been played. Saudi Arabia is not our friend.
Salman won’t be around much longer. And I think the younger generation understands how precarious SA’s position is. Their economy is far too dependent upon one commodity. And now with fracking and the discoveries of huge new reserves around the world, the time of “peak oil” is gone for good.

As I said on another thread, Trump looked right at the Muslim world and told them, “You are better than you think you are.” A blatant beacon of hope (real hope, not Obama’s hope) against the violence and despair that Islam’s imams use to keep the people controlled.
And then he looked at the leaders and said, paraphrased, “Don’t f*** this up.”
It may work or it may not, but even reaching 1 out of 1000 Muslims is 16 million people.
And who knows? Being willing to embrace something better may lead them to the hope found in Christ.
Considering that Trump has said himself that he knows about the Saudi-9/11 connection, I think he knows that. But unlike you, he’s the President, and he has to deal with reality. And reality is that these are big players in the world and it’d be stupid to insult them to their faces.
What would you have done, gone in there and taken a dump on the podium?
That and the Wahabbists they’ve cultivated are dangerously close to turning on them; at least that’s how it looks from my seat over here.
Trump has not been swayed. He knows a ittle Taquiy himself. He getting them to help us get rid of ISIS/Iran and at the same time he got billions for our economy and jobs for our people.
Trump went to the bazaar and got everything he wanted without spending a dime. No one bargains like our President.

Trump also said we are not going to force our beliefs on anyone else or tell anyone else how to live.

This is what’s going on here, people need to quit panicking. The Saudi’s know we’re keeping an eye on them.
