I wonder if they would say that a renovated Pimlico could help economic development in the adjacent bad area?? I haven’t been there in decades, but from what I’ve heard, it’s as bad as I remember it.

And, while “gentrification” can happen, it’s a long drawn out process; bad neighborhoods don’t turn around quickly.

I know nothing of the economics of horse racing, but, I would fear they would throw good money after bad, if they commit to a huge renovation project there.

Gentrification does not usually happen in a bad area surrounded by other troubled areas. Please, Republican Governor, do not commit taxpayer money to this losing proposition.
