reddit is kind of like facebook for nerds.
For context, /r/The_Donald has clashed with the admins for quite a while, and had several rules imposed on it, like being banned from linking to r/politics. It is also speculated that the algorithm for r/all being redone and the ability to filter r/all were specific acts taken because of and against the_donald. This crackdown from the admins also comes after a new set of much stricter rules for moderators. While resentments between t_d mods and the admins have been simmering for a long time, there are some specific recent events that have led to this which I detailed in a post yesterday, copied here

Yes, I saw and read your post # 32.
I was just trying to add to your original comments.
In February 2014, Reddit announced it would be donating 10% of its annual ad revenue to non-profits voted upon by its users.[135]
Reddit continued this policy for 2015, donating $82,765 each to Electronic Frontier Foundation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Doctors Without Borders, Erowid Center, Wikimedia Foundation, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, NPR, Free Software Foundation, Freedom From Religion Foundation, and Tor Project.[136]
I found it interesting a post about the first mod that got banned (ohsnapyougotserved) had like 10k upvotes and was on the front page ‘above the fold’ so to speak, of reddit. I saw this because my reddit app on my new Fire always took me to the reddit front page . wasn’t too long after that that the gate came down.
This is like a horror movie.
And barring that, reading now defunct magazines and even some still barely hanging on, also contained the info.
Sharia Blue
That’s okay, but you could have just posted the info as an addendum. ;^)
I’m 59
I know what’s Reddit
My kids use it
It seemed to me unfiltered
You just totally confused 90% of those you're trying to reach, by using that techno jargon.
Try plain English. It translates so much better for the uninitiated.
Ha!
I find it amazing how many FReepers that know so much, in reality, know so little.
We're all over at voat.co/thepedes. You don't even need an email to sign up at voat.
OK, now explain what you are talking about for those of us that have never reeddited.
Furthermore, how much impact does a corps of brainless liberal bytewads on Reddit actually have in the grand scheme?
That was uncalled for. I know who The Donald is. It was the nickname that he first wife, Ivana called him. I don't know what "Reddit has shut down The_Donald" means. I think that was the only question.
I got banned from the donald for complaining about jewish conspiracy theories. If they un ban me I might care.
The Donald is what his first wife Ivana called him. She is Czech and they use “The” before proper nouns when speaking English. I was in Czechoslovakia for a summer (when it was still called The Czechoslovakia) and it would crack me up how they referred to the city as “The Prague” or Castle Hluboka was “The Castle Hluboka.” They did the same thing when referring to people, as in “The Jiri and I are going to dinner in The Mala Strana.” So Ivana called him “The Donald” in an interview and the press back in the 80s made it out as if it was some grandiose title he had insisted upon.
we are here.
Perhaps we would cause to much commotion here. We are certainly loud! I don't know how healthy Freeper fund-raising is. But if you needed lots of deplorable new members who KNOW what a donate button is for, I bet you could easily get Centipede traffic.
That's really up to Jim.
You are way late to the party.
The nickname was due to Ivana, mother of Ivanka.
So you had the Duke, the Gipper ... but the Donald?
Explaineth Ivana:
As most people know, English isn’t my first language, in fact it’s my fourth. When I came to live in New York, I really had to learn the language from the beginning almost. Some things come easily, some things don’t. And for whatever reason, probably because I was going at my usual turbo speed, I started putting ‘The’ in front of most people’s names. Yes, you know the outcome — ‘The Donald’ just slipped off the tongue, and now it seems to be making its ways to the political history books.
