Facebook loves “Top Stories” on your newsfeed because it gives them more selective power over what you see. They have made the switcheroo from “Most Recent” much more frequent than it used to be.

Fortunately on FB you can hide posts from people (even shares from accounts you do know) and from sources (like HuffPoo, Guardians of the Uk, and MSLSDNews). That keeps them out of your feed and does limit the amount of “Trending” certain things can have.

I’ve also taken to reporting as “fake news” a good number of the DNC-MSM talking point articles. Not each article on a topic but report them (and if different people are flagging articles on the same subject, that topic becomes “tainted”).

Also you can X out articles from the “trending” (all of which clearly have been vetted to a Leftist position, despite their claims that they aren’t hand selecting them anymore).

None of their “trends” trend among my friends and those who may reflect those trends have been “hidden” from my feed (you’ll only see posts from around 10-20 people in your feed anyhow, people you’ve recently interacted with). Be more active in who/what appears in your ‘newsfeed’.
