Chelsea Manning to remain on active duty in Army and receive health care after prison release

Chelsea Manning, the transgender U.S. soldier convicted of espionage, will remain on active duty and be eligible for health care benefits after her release from prison, the Army said.

Manning, who was known as Bradley and underwent hormone treatment behind bars, will remain a private in the Army, have access to commissaries and continue to receive health care benefits, but will not be paid, an Army spokesman told USA Today.

“Pvt. Manning is statutorily entitled to medical care while on excess leave in an active duty status, pending final appellate review,” the spokesman said.

The Army declined to say what post she’ll be assigned and who she’ll report to.

I believe this creature had its sentence COMMUTED and it wasn’t pardoned.

Whatever. My point is that it's out of jail and should be out of the Army. There is no appeals process left. Keep it in the Army, give it rank and benefits, but don't pay it? Where is the logic in that?

Absolutely outrageous that the Army even considered such "BS". The guy is/was found guilty and belongs locked up. He should NEVER be brought back into the Army and deserves a dishonorable or a undesirable discharge at minimum. Dump him, no reinstatement and no benefits!

I do not believe Bradley was ever charged with treason. Now might be a good time

Bradley Manning should have a general court martial and receive a dishonorable discharge. He is a disgrace to whatever uniform the pansy brigade thinks he should be wearing.

>>How in the F*** does that work?

Observe how the culture of rape worked under the L.I.F.E.R. “leadership” at the AFA...

“To do what is right for some else, even though you know it may not go well for you, that is the character trait we are missing in the Air Force today. I believe integrity has gone to the waste side at USAFA “
—Staff Sergeant Brandon Enos, (USAFOSI “Operation Gridiron”)

SSGT Enos nailed it.    The cadre at the AFA, not. so. much.

Manning is symptomatic of the culture of self-serving, self-worshiping, demoralized technocratic corruption.... predicted by Bezmenov.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/17/politics/chelsea-manning-sentence-commuted/index.html

Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama on Tuesday overruled his secretary of defense to commute the sentence of former Army soldier Chelsea Manning, who was convicted of stealing and disseminating 750,000 pages of documents and videos to WikiLeaks.

The decision — which a senior defense official told CNN was made over the objections of Secretary of Defense Ash Carter — immediately touched off a controversy in the closing days of the Obama administration.

A former intelligence official described being “shocked” to learn of Obama’s decision, adding that the “entire intelligence community is deflated by this inexplicable use of executive power.” The official said the move was “deeply hypocritical given Obama’s denunciation of WikiLeaks’ role in the hacking of the (Democratic National Committee).”

That kind of ferocious penalty for treason will surely put a stop to all such treasonous behavior in the future.

"She" was pardoned by Obama and therefore there cannot legally be subject to any further punishment (like a dishonorable discharge).

Still, there's no reason the Army can't discharge "her" for the good of the service.
