It’s a song about ecology and the environment: those “crazy horses, smoking up the sky” are gas-guzzling cars, destroying the planet with their fumes.

Somehow though, the air is much cleaner today than it was 45 years ago even thought we have double or even triple the amount of cars.

I can't blame the Osmonds though. Young people have always been earnest and thinking that it is all up to them to save the world. I remember when I was young, lecturing my uncle about tossing a six-pack ring into the trash. I literally pulled that ring out of the trash and with scissors, would cut it up so that fish in the ocean would not get caught up in it.

I was saving the fish!
