True, re Ohio. I was still worried about FL, though.

Heartbreaking is also the millions of votes here in CA for Trump. Incredible amounts. All into the toilet. It is a very frustrating place to live, come election time.

I've lived most of my adult life in New England so I know the feeling. My votes go to waste as the Democrat almost always wins. But I get out there every election and vote just the same. Eventually the tide will turn.

PA, WI and MI flipping red in 2016 is an example of that!

Also, don't forget that the Deep South was written off by Republicans for decades after the Civil War. Now it's the complete opposite. So hang in there. California may yet go red again.

In California, the GOP also lost seats in the legislature. In my district, Democrat Josh Newman ousted our Republican State Senator to became the deciding vote on the big gasoline tax increase that was just passed.

I suspect that many California Republicans may have stayed home because Trump wasn't going to win the state's electoral votes and the choice for US Senate was between two Democrats with no write-ins allowed--thanks to the "jungle primary" system that the voters approved recently.
