“Old fridge or washer/dryer would last 20-30 years.”
My mother’s fridge is on year 17.

I have a 12 year old Whirlpool refrigerator. It still works fine. Replaced the condenser fan recently because it was getting a little noisy and replaced the ice maker about 3 years ago. If I remember correctly, I think I paid about $400 for a plain Jane type fridge in the 1980’s and it was a piece of junk. Appliances today are considerably better for the most part.

My current Maytag frig is 14 years and still running smooth...we had my parents small Hotpoint frig in our garage for just beer and sodas...it was 52 years old...when we said good bye...
aah, how times have changed...remember when gas cost 39 cents a gallon? those good old days were sure nice times...

My Mom’s fridge (GE) was older than I.
It was still running when we cleaned out her house, and I was about 65. The freezer compartment wouldn’t keep ice cream solid, and Dad had patched the door latch, but it kept food cold.

My folks bought a freezer when they got married. They still use it. This year will be their 60th anniversary.
