My grandsons go to a very pricey private school in California. As freshman each student is given a horse which becomes their responsibility for the year. They have to be in the stables at 6:30 AM,every day, to muck the stall, groom the horse and then ride. The point is to teach them to take care of something bigger than themselves.
The headmaster of the school had an assembly after Trump won and pretty much told the students who were upset to “straighten up buttercup” because life doesn’t always go the way we want it. To say my daughter and son-in-law are very happy with this school would be an understatement.
Sounds like a great school.
