First, I have interviewed people in my capacity as a journalist; they say that “dilution is the solution to pollution.”

Second, I think a water body as big as the ocean is probably not susceptible to this.

However, we do have a small lake here, near where I live, that is anaerobic.

It would take an enormous catastrophe to make an ocean like that.

We should deep=six the carbon of these “climate experts” before the steal any more oxygen.

I guess I misunderstood his statement. (I passed all my chem classes.)

I helped my chem teacher grade the exams of the other pupils. :-)

That would be awesome! The Federal Reserve and counterfeiters would have a difficult time printing up clam shells. It would finally put an end to smelly Keynesianism!

And the seas would be littered with clam shells because awful humanity stripped all the oceans of their oxygen! We’ll be stackin’ and bankin’ those shells. :)

I think the gradient in oxygen pressure causes movement of oxygen molecules towards equilibrium independent of convection. But it’s been many years since I studied this, so please forgive me if what I say is wrong.

We could covert some idle oil platforms with air stones and compressors.

OMG
If you remove the oxygen atom from water, then only hydrogen will be left and we’ll REALLY be in trouble!!

WHAT?? NOT ENOUGH OXYGEN TO BREATHE IN THE WATER??? Dang, I guess I still have to pay for swim lessons for the kids this summer.

Also, don’t plants make oxygen? What about all that seaweed that washes onto the beach? Maybe the libs could get on that, and get out to the beaches by 5 am and start shoveling all the seaweed back in. That oughta keep them busy.

What you're saying isn't wrong, per se, but it isn't the only - or even the dominant - factor involved.

Are you denying that convection could also play a role? Are you denying that convection could possibly even greatly overshadow mere diffusion?

My wife's nagging me while I drive a car will not influence my blood alcohol level - they are two independent factors. Both affect my driving ability. Given various circumstances, one, or both, or none of those two factors could be responsible for my causing an accident.

Regards,

P.S. There could even be a slight/powerful positive or negative correlation between two or more factors - i.e., they could be weakly/strongly coupled. Science is complicated!

interesting because that would mean most life on earth would end....why do I think there is no real science behind the claim.
