May 11, 2017: The monument to Jefferson Davis in New Orleans, the former president of the Confederacy was removed just after 5 a.m.
Eventually America’s chocolate taliban will answer for this.
The idea of States’ Rights has been a sore issue of debate since the early 1800s. It is the association with the Republican Party with pro States’ Rights issues such as opposition to same-sex marriage, has weakened their support with the Black community. However, it is really an effort to conform to State Sovereignty as addressed by the 10th Amendment. This removal of the Jefferson Davis monument may be a clever way to remove 10th Amendment ideas from the national narrative.
“In April the first Confederate Memorial, Liberty Place, was
taken down about 2am.”
The Liberty Place Monument was not a Confederate monument.
Are democrats trying to erase their past?
Disgusting.

Agreed. Our history is what it is. Brave soldiers on both sides deserve remembrance as each was fighting for what they believed to be right.
“Why at 5 am?? “
Because that’s when you the workers left the bar in New Orleans.

Jefferson Davis?
He was from Mississippi.
Reason enough for Louisianans not to love him?
I hope the identity of the hauling company will be known soon so they can be put out of business quickly and every employee on unemployment. Message to the company: Enjoy your 30 pieces of silver now, they won’t last long.
They are so proud that they take the tags off the trucks, cover their logos, put on bullet proof vests, wear Antifa masks and come out in the dead of night. They are scum.
No doubt. When I was at Tulane, the great wave of gentrification that rehabilitated the Garden District and Uptown was still in the early stages. Mercifully, for us callow Tulane students, the immediate environs of the campus were mostly safe, at least in daytime. Similarly, in the daylight hours, even the Fret Jet (the Freret Street bus) from the campus to Canal Street was safe even though it traversed dismal Black slums.
Let’s leave the courts out of this one.
It’s up to New Orleans and if there are unintended consequences, New Orleans will feel it.
Someday when all this sh*t falls completely apart, there are going to be some scores to settle. Payback time. Bigly.
They are slowly expunging the history of the south.......rewriting a fictitious history. If you are a southerner you are no less an American, but they say you will not be allowed to remember your ancestors. It seems they are trying to intentional provoke. These men were not stalins or hitlers. They were men who loved their homeland (state). Did the north love their states more? This is appeasement to the radical blacks who have the eternal threat of violence, ever-present, who demand their way or law abiding people will be targeted. It is truly disgusting.
Liberals value cultural cleansing as much as ISIS does.
Freret Street is all nice bars and upscale restaurants.
And the neighborhood around there is gentrified.
Back in the 1970-80’s Magazine Street was blighted, now it is all fancy.
So you are fine with the monuments being removed?
Criminals and Democrats [one and the same actually] work better in the dark. Neither can stand the light of day. But in all honesty, the people of New Orleans , knowing full well what a back stabbing bastard he was, elected him any way. So, as one of the Founding Fathers said, “You always get the Government you deserve, maybe not the Government you want, but the one you deserve”.
Liberty Place wasn’t Confederate.
*************
I understand it was post Civil War but it was the first of the
four scheduled to be taken down. It was removed on April 24.
“So you are fine with the monuments being removed?”
On Sunday, I went to the protest at Lee Circle and simply observed, as I did not want to stand alongside the White Power & Klan that were among the crowd protesting the removal of the monuments.
