I solve that problem by buying cheap phones. You can do 90% as well with a $100 phone, that you can with a $500 phone. I just bought my wife a nice one for $50. Does everything she needs, much better than the 2 year old phone she had before that cost 300

Um...no. The apps I can use with the better phone will save me MORE that what the better phone will cost me. Plus I will have a BETTER phone.
