really sad for the family.
This same “lawyer” had actually made a career out of
prosecuting people who had done the exact same thing he
was now trying to pull himself! - I wasn’t close to him.
My mother & his dad are first cousins. My dad had a real
thing about being against cousins - even distant cousins -
dating or marrying. He didn’t even like me seeing this
fellow on a yearly basis at family reunions. Neither my
dad or my husband trusted him one bit. - He “dropped by”
our house one day when my husband was at work; but husband
came home to lunch & ran him off. - I was sort of too
trusting I guess. I didn’t live anywhere near the town
where he lived, so it doesn’t really affect me all that
much. IF he’s going to be like that; prison is probably
where he belongs. - He’s already been through two or three
wives (maybe more).
The Lord takes care of the trusting. - Years ago, we lived
on a lake in North Carolina. - I was out of the dental
bands the dentist had given me to wear on my teeth for
correcting my overbite. So, I took some RED sewing thread
& wrapped it around the teeth & forgot it. Then a couple of
“hunters” came galloping up to the front door & knocked.
I flung the door open. I was dressed in my RED quilted
housecoat; with the BLOOD RED thread wrapped around teeth.
I grinned real big; told them I hadn’t seen the hunting
dogs they were looking for. They backed off - scared of the
woman with the bloody teeth & probably a gun under her
quilted housecoat. (Probably Bloody Typhoid Mary) They
hightailed it on up the road! Now, I REALLY do have a
Smith & Wesson pistol and a rifle at 71 & less patience
than when I was 26 yrs. old.
