We were there a few weeks ago. They have barricaded most of the major sites with makeshift, ugly fences and such. The refugees are a nightmare you have to navigate around and strategize to avoid getting robbed. We didn’t have any issues but we ran into a few uncomfortable encounters and since we were prepared it wasn’t a real problem. More an once we saw tourists complaining to the police who looked kind of bored they had to get involved. Anyway, France is getting what they asked for, a Merkle-Swedish solution to their situation, which will eventually be a national nightmare.
Last time there were terrorist attacks in France, I felt genuinely saddened.
The next time it happens I’m going to laugh my ass off.
