Uber charges a pretty standard rate by both time and mileage, like most taxi services. There’s really no arguing the fare, you an only argue about the route taken... and for most rides, that difference is going to account for about a dollar or two. I presumed that Oher, between movie royalties and his long NFL career (3 contracts totaling $40.8M so far), wouldn’t have to worry much about an unexpected $2 addition to his credit card.
Read the book. The writer is great. A lotta Bill Walsh and Lawrence Taylor mentioned + the technical aspects of football. Oher? He was a fish outta water the entire novel. The movie I didn’t bother to see. Susan Bullock does not pass as somebody’s mom. In one chapter Oher decides he’s gonna hurt someone. The reader feels he’s justified. Maybe a leopard just can’t change his spots. Still I’d side with him.
Other night Uber had a $50 bump from the airport because of congestion pricing. It’s not always $1 or $2 dollars.
