I’m reserving judgment. His family are members of our old church and I know they are good people. We moved and changed churches, so it’s been several years since I’ve seen either his dad or Michael. I don’t know what happened here, but even if he was in the wrong, I believe deep down he is a good man. Unless he’s really changed, it’s hard to imagine he would simply attack an uber driver. I think of him as polite and rather shy.
He was signing his book at a bookstore. I was sick, but really wanted to get a signed copy for my brother’s birthday. Waited in line for 2 hours. When I got close it said on a sign, “No personalized inscriptions.” When it was my turn I asked him if he could please inscribe it. He did & was very gracious & polite. I also took a picture with him. It was basically one giant block party outside the bookstore. Classy, sweet guy.
