Advil Cold and Sinus is a pretty darn good hangover helper too.
A tall glass of water at bedtime works wonders for me. Sure, nature calls in a few hours but no hangover in the AM.
I had two mint julips today and was feeling no pain. I thought it must have been the mint.
The 2017 Woodford Reserve $1,000 mint julep recipe for the Kentucky Derby:
Fresh mint leaves
1.5 ounces Woodford Reserve bourbon
1/2 ounce simple sugar
1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur
1/4 ounce Pimms
Dash of Earl Grey bitters
Crushed ice
Scrub the inside of a julep cup with two mint leaves and drop them inside. Add the bourbon, sugar, liqueurs and bitters and pack the cup with crushed ice. Stir. Top the cup with additional ice and add a sprig of mint as a garnish. Morris also sprinkled some dried cornflower blossoms on top and added a sprig of babys breath to create a more photogenic drink.

Tylenol kills by hemorrhages in the liver and kidneys.
Beer is life!

Well, Duh.
Damn it, you beat me to it!
I have always had trouble getting my teeth drilled. No matter how much novocaine they give me, I can still feel it...and it sucks.
I had to get a new dentist, and he did all the usual stuff...give you the shot...wait...drill, and...I could feel it, hurt like Hell.
So he repeats with another shot...same thing.
And again.
Then he says “You can’ possibly feel that.” Indeed, the side of my face felt like it had a stroke. But I could feel it.
Then he says...I’ll give one more. And he put it in, and...voila! It didn’t hurt when he drilled!
He said I had really strange nerve configuration in my lower jaw. Now, in the few times he has had to drill, he gives me one shots and it kills the pain. I think of all those years of pain...but I don’t blame them. How would they have known?
LOL, I had never had a mint julep in my life. I thought I would like to try one, so I watched, and it was basically crush some mint, and fill the glass with bourbon!!!!
I guess it made me think of the first time I had a Campari and Soda. They looked so refreshing, and when I drank it, I nearly spit it out!
As for the bourbon, well, I have never developed a taste for that kind of liquor, but I sure like the effect!
To quote Legendhasit...

you just don’t care as
much”....all the girls

Ummmmm....how much beer?
Guess when the morning after comes, you need to start drinking to take the pain away. Repeat and rinse. Yay! you are now an alkie!
Gatorade. Yah Baby! The sugar high is the best!
You forgot what made that drink an expensive drink, the gold cup.
Got that one right. Tylenol will work on a normal headache, not much else.
But I’m not about to become an alcoholic to be rid of the pain, I just buried my brother from alcoholism. Nor am I taking up smoking any thing. Watched my parents die of lung cancer because they refused to quit smoking.
I drink 1 beer when we have pizza because I like the way it taste.

Lets not forget any OTC other than Tylenol will give you Reflux/ULCERS. They are not at all GASTRO friendly. 1 Mobic tab took a large bottle of Pepto to put out the fire in the gut. Even 80 mg Nexium couldn’t do that.
To much Tylenol will get your Kidneys as will to much beer get your Liver. Down side to any way you go.
Moderation is the key.
I am similar. The first time I had a tooth drilled as a child, the pain was unbelievable - I think he did it without novocaine. I didn’t believe such pain possible, but I was a ‘good child’, and didn’t think my parents would put me through this unless it was necessary, so I bore it without complainaing. But I was terrified of the dentist for years after that.
Eventually I learned about novocaine, and though the dentist sometimes had to give me multiple shots before it worked, drilling never bothered me again. For pain after dental work, like having a tooth pulled: Beer!
I can’t stand the way pharmaceutical pain meds make you feel; my brain would get so fuzzy I couldn’t do anything productive on them.
LOL, they TELL you you aren’t supposed to do anything productive on them!
That said, they don’t do much for me. If I have surgery or something and get them, I will take them, but...I don’t have good results. But they don’t make me fuzzy...:)
Even sick, I need to DO something, if it’s only reading a book.
I had surgery once back in the ‘70s, and there was a movie on the hospital TV - The Day of the Dolphin, with George C. Scott.
I was so pumped full of pain injections, I can barely recall that movie, except that I thought it was good and wished I was in my ‘right mind’. Will have to find it again ;-)
