It is such fun!

I was shooting a video out at the IBM Research San Jose lab that included scenes of John Backus (Backus-Naur Form, Fortran, reduction languages) that I got by playing 2nd camera and crawling around on the floor shooting up into people’s faces during an actual group meeting. I mentioned my videos and he had me bring in my set and play them for his group. This was in the set, but New Math was his favorite.

Strongest memory was that the video was for a computer project that turned out to do almost nothing when I showed up there with camera crew, so my husband worked on trying to make computer art with their system while I did shots of one sun and one green pine tree, the only thing they had working, in clay. The project leader suggested working on John’s desk since he mostly worked out of his home on Twin Peaks. So we spread out green clay on John’s desk and used a cookie cutter to cut out a tree. And that’s how I learned that oak has a REALLY wide grain. Still remember the guy peeking his head out of his office, running into John’s office and trying to clean the clay out of the oak.

I love videos!

Good heavens. I had some of her cassettes back in the late seventies.

Is Leslie Fish still singing?
