Yes, it was the MRI that determined it was an actual stroke. They are saying it was from the heart, I don’t understand it all, but a fib? Anyway, her heart has had a lot to do for many years and it may be what we need to accept, and with her Dementia declining as it has been, well, you know. It’s in Gds hands.
My mother had a heart attack at age 59, and was put on a heart-friendly diet and certain meds for many years. At 80 (+/-) she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. After years of care, her capacity was declining. WIth advise from her treating physician, we took her off the heart meds and reintroduced a few treats, like ice cream, to her diet. Seriously, why not?
As it turned out, she passed away before her memory loss was total and complete. She may not have remembered your visit the next hour or day, but when you called or were visiting she knew who you were. I think we all were blessed to have her pass before she got to not recognizing her loved ones.
