Since the courts have decided that lying about military service is protected speech, I like the style points of prosecuting this dipstick for these charges.

Having a court finding showing dishonesty will make him unemployable in law enforcement, as any testimony he ever gave would be immediately destroyed by the defense. Brady Material.

That is true. . .but stolen valor is an exception if you received some sort of compensation for your lie.

This clears the way for those wannabes in a bar that never were can still wow some young bimbet about their “heroics.”

Basically, if he receives some sort of financial benefit he can be prosecuted. That’s my understanding.

In Texas I have a “DV” plate for 50% disability rating and a combat medal (Air Medal) on the license plate. I get a discount on property taxes for being a DV and I can use “handicap” parking spaces.
