Then quit your job, and let someone who knows how to handle the public take your place.

I’ve worked in retail, and always managed to calm down irate customers. It’s a simple matter of putting yourself in their shoes and treating them with respect.

If you can’t do that, go get a job digging ditches.

Notice I never said I thought that what the Delta employee did was acceptable in any way.

I happen to enjoy working with most people. I am the govto for angry customers mainly because I listen to them and find a solution. Doesn’t mean that their attitudes and entitled view point make me think well of them.

Since you don’t know me you made assumptions.
