ESPN SC6 co-host Michael Smith had a strong reaction Tuesday to a group of Boston Red Sox fans using racial slurs towards Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones Monday night with one fan throwing peanuts at him.

Looks like ESPN missed one.
“A couple black players have come out and said this happens every time they play in Boston.”

Bull**** ! What players?
They probably consider ANY “boo” racist.

Do you really think what happened to Jones was the only time this has ever happened? You're being naive, IMO.
I heard one player, I wish I could remember who, tell a story about Ted Williams.
The player was a rookie on the other team and he was jogging around the outfield in the afternoon before a game against the Sox. As he ran past some bleachers he heard someone softly calling “pssst. Hey kid!”
It was Ted Williams hiding under the bleachers. He saw that the kid was having trouble with major league pitching. And being the extraordinary hitter he was he knew exactly what was wrong. So he gave the kid some tips and that night the rookie hit the cover off the ball. For Williams, pitchers were the enemy no matter what team you were on.
I don’t condone racial slurs, but Adam Jones has always come across as a surly, dyspeptic person.
Why are “people of color” from all around the world breaking down the doors trying to get into this horribly racist country?
He’s part right. Louisville. My birthplace. Tulsa. Memphis. Atlanta. Very, very racist. Blacks hates whites there.
Thanks. I had no idea there were so few black baseball players. Does that include black Hispanic players?
Weren’t the Boston Red Sox the last team in major league baseball to have a black player on the team? Of course that was before most of today’s fans were born.

Of course not,but it happens in many places and by a few drunken idiots.
The press and the “victim” made it out to be more than it was.

Yep Pumpsie Green, in 1959.
I forget why it took them so long. I think the owner at the time was a big-time racist.
Boo hoo. So Adam Jones got called the N-word. But what about the racist machete murder of that Texas student this weekend? The media couldn’t care less.
((((Hugs)))) I never watch his show.Great way to get headlines.People are turning off ESPN.
Dunno if it counts black hispanics. Or where we could find that breakdown.

That is true of virtually all rat-run organizations, so what’s the point?
Latin players: 29.3%
African American blacks: 8.3%
Asian: 1.2%
Caucasian: 58.8%
Other? (unaccounted for to make 100%): 2.4%
