Imagine the electronics in your car are fried and the car will not start. Even if the car runs, where are you going to buy gas?
Imagine the transformers at all the power stations in your region fried and it will take months are years to get any replacements.
Imagine the switch gear is fried and even if the power plants could be run, the power grid could not be managed.
Imagine no power in your house. Imagine no power for pumps to supply water to your house or pump/process sewage.
Imagine no electronics for money management.
Imagine no food in any grocery store anywhere in your town.
Imagine the food stamp crowd getting hungry and gangs attack neighborhoods looking for something to eat. What are you going to do when you hear noises outside in the middle of the night?
Etc. Getting things fixed is not going to be your primary focus. Surviving for the first few weeks will be. There will be people out there who will kill you for what they need to survive.
I live in a rural area, I have fuel and a generator set, enough food for a month or so, my own well that I can run with my generator for short periods and a small lake on the place for other water. That’s why I was asking, I’ve thought about things like this before. We could last a month or maybe two, after that it would get pretty “lean”...
We don't make transformers in America. We get them from China and I don't think there are more than a couple in the country at any one time. China is not going to do anything to restore the American grid.
