I went and read the article, and here’s my response.
Conservative purity is irrelevant. The ONLY thing which matters is halting immigration before an irreversible demographic shift happens.
The "conservative purity" of National Review Online types is just a dishonest pose and convenient ploy ploy. They use "big government" and "statism" as rhetorical tricks to attack Trump or LePen, while having absolutely not problem with the big government statism of the Bushes or other establishment Republicans. Ideological purity about small government only matters if the "statist" in question opposes multiculturalism and globalism.
