Russians almost getting run over & a few actually were run over. They just calmly got up and went on their way.

This is due to what they call the erectile phase of traumatic shock which is of hormonal nature. You just overestimate Russians. If alike US dashcam videos were available you'd see the same.

You may have a point. I’ve never been in that situation, so I don’t know how I would react.

IMO, the dash cams are actually a good idea.
