Watch the video ... she did hit the brakes.
Watch enough dash-cam footage of drivers from Russia and former associated provinces; and, one begins to wonder if some of the incidents aren’t just staged, so as to supply a YouTube channel. Were it to be real life, then one must ask what’s going on between their ears when behind the wheel?
Horns are always fashionable before applying brakes, steer to avoid initial collision for a twofer with more style points, icy roads—drive faster to insure a rollover. Red stoplight means hit the gas—green means make a U-turn in the intersection. If you cause an incident, intimidate by brandishing the standard issue pipe stowed in the trunk.

Yeah, I’ve seen that video.
I’ve also seen videos of Russians almost getting run over & a few actually were run over. They just calmly got up and went on their way.
Nothing scares Russians. NOTHING. Just watch Russian dash cam videos & you won’t believe what happens.
Russians are different. I’m part Russian, I know.
I get a kick out of the videos where someone is hanging on to the hood of another car while it’s flying down the street.
And the road rage videos when they will get out of their vehicles & start fighting right in the middle of the road. It’s also amazing to see how many Russians own baseball bats, considering they don’t play baseball there.
What really gets me is how they drive on snowy, icy roads. The worse the weather, the faster they go. And they seem to not realize what brakes are for.
I love those videos.
It is hypnotically insane! I spent a couple hours with guys watching these one night, and though we were highly entertained (think watching “Jackass” in real life!) and we came to three conclusions:
1.) There must be a huge number of people driving drunk, stoned, or both in Russia.
2.) There are no rules of the road, and nobody has ever received driver training on defensive driving, or commonsense driving, or...driving training.
3.) These people appear not to give a damn what happens to themselves or anyone else.
That makes sense, if you drive a lot of miles...especially if your job depends on your not being charged with a driving violation.
I’ve read that every single metra train driver (the chicago commuter rail system) has hit either a car, a person, or an animal. Most more than one. It’s part of their job, and doesn’t result in hysterics.
please let’s not be too rough on her, gang
she’s obviously just PRACTICING for the Costco parking lot
This is due to what they call the erectile phase of traumatic shock which is of hormonal nature. You just overestimate Russians. If alike US dashcam videos were available you'd see the same.
You may have a point. I’ve never been in that situation, so I don’t know how I would react.
IMO, the dash cams are actually a good idea.
They're cheap and widely available, if not locally, but at least at Aliexpress. You might get one, if your state's law doesn't qualify using a dashcam as privacy infringement. Just get a HD-quality one for the licence plates to be readable.
Thanks for the info.
That's why dash cams are so popular in Russia.
And also why video of the Chelyabinsk meteor was so plentiful.
The really crazy ones all drive those old Soviet era Lada sedans, the boxy looking Fiat knockoffs. Whenever you see one of those in a Russian dash cam video, rest assured, mayhem is about to commence, whether it involves a crash or six big thugs piling out like a clown car unloading, armed with metal pipes and baseball bats. It’s all very entertaining in an odd way, I’ve been watching them for years. I’d sure hate trying to drive through that daily just to get to work though, personally. Entertaining from afar, not up close and personal.
It was the meteor thing that tipped me off on why there was so much crazy Russian dash-cam video...I wondered how there was so much video of the meteor!
Exactly...it is like watching a slow motion train wreck. You see them driving down the road, and you can guess what is going to occur before it actually does...then it happens.
