It's more than that. Over the past few years, I've seen and heard so-called "men" berate women, curse them, slug them, call them gutter names and more. The times I've been able to intervene, I've been threatened myself. I have told them to make my day but to call their families so they can claim the body.

It's disgusting. I was raised to honor women and protect children. I was raised to hold doors, carry heavy loads for those older than I or for those struggling to do so. I was taught to watch my language around women and children and to never, ever dishonor the family name. If my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles were alive and were to see me do those things, I'd have been likely beaten to a pulp.

What the heck has happened to people.
