I just saw this on twitter. Absolutely disgusting. Thank God, my 2 sons are out of the secondary school system. I can’t imagine what Canadian universities are like now. It was bad enough a number of years ago here.
Heck, it was borderline bad when I went, many years ago. But it was clandestine. Nothing overt, just an overall trend to the dark side.

I hope the guy who was hit files a police report because you know the sissy LE in Berkeley won’t pursue this. This over aged punk needs to be fired.
He is utterly unfit to be a university professor. He needs to have his career ended, but SFSU will probably shelter him — after all, they are all of his ilk, just some act out more than others.
I am very surprised over the past year to see professor after professor identified for acts of violence or inciting violence. It is one thing to be liberal, take extreme or out-of-step positions, but to commit violence or incite it is incredible. The lack of maturity, lack of professionalism, lack of academic perspective, whatever of multiple professors around the country show something very seriously wrong with our universities. Even if liberal or whatever, I guess I’d still expect a clear headed soberness that would not only not commit violence or incite it, but would counsel against it. Well, Republican governors need to appoint some conservative leaders of state school systems and do some housecleaning. Maybe see that these professors are charged with violent felonies, then stripped of tenure and fired.

He said I was a racist for saying the word black and inciting hate speech, and then he whipped out a bike lock and started swinging. Luckily I identify as a dark skinned person so I wasn’t hit. I had sooo much fun with the wackos at San Francisco State University back before and during the first Gulf War. I would create custom posters, place them in strategic places, and then watch from nearby for the wackos’ reactions. My all time favorite was ‘White Men Can’t Jump, and Black Men Can’t Add.’ Oh, the humanity! They would shout, yell, and tear them down. A week or two later I would begin again.
During the war ‘protest’ some ‘students’ were allowed to build and live in a shack (dump) in the middle of the campus. There were daily noontime rallies and I would wade into the fray and engage these creepozoids. I had a short ponytail, so I could have been mistaken for a creepozoid. One day, after a longer discussion of reality vs indoctrination, the young skull full of mush could no longer stand truth and logic. He finally asked ‘So, how can you be conservative and have long hair?’ Most of the crowd that gathered around us realized the mush head was mushy. It remains one of my favorite memories from engaging the creepozoids.

The next time he goes on the warpath for social justice, may he leave the battlefield wishing he had never been born.

Wielding a bike lock like that is no different than going after someone’s head with a hammer. I would have no qualms about employing deadly force against him in that scenario.
