Remember how difficult that particular spring was? It was as if everything melted at once and suddenly everybody was getting their horses and carriages stuck in the mud from Virginia clear up to Maine. Here I am waiting patiently for my driver to get unmired and back on the road. You couldn't tell from the picture but I was pretty angry about the delay.

Things really sucked here in Hawaii. Those Confederate privateers destroyed the whole whaling fleet and pretty much ended the whaling industry here.
