Unfortunately, this is based on fake news rather than reality.

It would be nice if tens of thousands crossed over the Canadian border each day and double that amount on the weekends.

Canada has strict immigration laws. They are required to have a sponsor family, work skills, etc.

Many of these people will be "illegal" in Canada just as they are here.

Why is this not even mentioned in the Globe article?
