As KFC shuns some antibiotics, U.S. chicken industry deploys wet wipes, oregano

To meet increasing demand for meat raised without certain antibiotics, top U.S. chicken company Tyson Foods Inc and rival producers are turning to sanitizing wipes, bacteria-reducing fog and even oregano to keep birds healthy.

Some have spent years of trial and error on new techniques to figure out replacements for human drugs, part of a fight against the rise of dangerous antibiotic-resistant bacteria in people. Yum Brands Inc's KFC on Friday became the last of the big three U.S. chicken restaurants to move away from antibiotics important to human medicine.

McDonald's Corp and privately held Chick-fil-A had already made similar commitments. Nationwide, more than 42 percent of the U.S. chicken industry has already committed to reducing the use of antibiotics, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council.

With KFC's move, that number is set to grow. KFC U.S. President Kevin Hochman called the chain's move a "major milestone" that should significantly increase the supply of bone-in chicken raised without medically important antibiotics. It should also open the door for smaller chains to follow KFC's move, he told Reuters.

KFC, which sells more than 65 million buckets of chicken a year, estimated that one-third of its suppliers were already transitioning to chicken raised with fewer antibiotics. The company said it was late to shift away from human antibiotics because it had to persuade suppliers of bone-in chickens it uses to make the change......snip/

......Perdue Farms, a competitor, said it eliminated the routine use of all antibiotics in chicken last year. It now puts oregano in birds' water, banking on the herb's antioxidants to keep them healthy, and takes other steps to avoid drugs.......

Not anything like carvacrol or alicin.

You’re in way over your head if it was a serious answer.

You’re full of crap!

I’ve had 72 years of solid experience with how well carvacrol works.

The quackery is mostly confined to allopathy and pharmacy.

You’re trolling. You’ll get your reward when it counts.

Very serious answer. If you have information otherwise comparing carvacrol to alcohol or salt please post it.

The pharmacies sell this stuff by the truckload and make millions of dollars!

CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco.

Fools part with their money so easily.

Paradoxically, the less evidence that exists to support the use of of a treatment, the more passionate its supporters seem to be. I learned this early in my career as a pharmacist. One pharmacy I worked at did a steady business in essential oils. And king of the oils was oil of oregano. Not only were there several different brands of the basic oil, they were different forms, including capsules, creams and even nasal sprays. Not aware of any therapeutic benefits, I would ask customers what they were using it for. I rarely heard the same condition described: skin infections, athlete’s foot, head lice, colds, sore throats, “parasites”, “yeasts”, diabetes, allergies and ringworm were apparently no match against the judicious use of oregano oil. Intrigued, I took a closer look.

Long before our scientific understanding of bacteria and antimicrobials, infected wounds were packed with different products in an attempt to minimize the odour, and hopefully speed healing. It’s likely that someone happened upon a fragrant herb and discovered that it seemed to help treat wounds (or at least, cover some of the smell).

Sorry. I hadn’t finished watching when I wrote the first comment. Reminds me of the time I was visiting a patient, who had chickens. A little hen came barreling past me, as fast as she could go, and right behind her, and gaining on her, was a big rooster. She was headed for the pen, but I don’t think she made it before he got to her. (Even male CHICKENS are pigs!)

Here’s the bottom line: Essential oils do not cure illnesses or medical conditions. They possibly make people feel better, and may have a minimal effect on very minor skin conditions. But that’s it. Essential oils won’t heal your cancer, broken bones, migraines, dimentia, fybromyalgia, autism or anything else. And if used incorrectly, essential oils can be dangerous.

Here’s the real bottom line:

Carvacrol is the most effective anti-microbial on Earth, and the bugs cannot develop resistance to it simply because none ever have survived contact thereto.

The other bottom line is what should be the top line: Antibiotics have always been a solution to a problem that never existed.

People that consume a proper diet, including oregano/thyme, and raw garlic rarely contract microbial infections. If they do, the next meal will likely eliminate it.

The other obvious bottom line is that you are a deliberate deceiver and an idiot.

Allopathy is the ancient witchcraft of Babylon; truly the most deadly curse on Earth.

Read your Bible; Yeshua condemned the “doctors” for taking the money and doing nothing to help.

Its the same today for the most part. If you are ill, its either a dietary issue, or a spiritual issue.

Naturopathic remedies will cure unless the issue is spiritual.

“Allopathy is the ancient witchcraft of Babylon; truly the most deadly curse on Earth.”

“Allopathy” was penned by the founder of homeopathic medicine, the greatest fraud ever put upon mankind.

Nonsense.

That lie was penned by those that seek to enrich themselves by harming all others.

I thought you were serious. No serious person would post such nonsense!

“The other bottom line is what should be the top line: Antibiotics have always been a solution to a problem that never existed.”

Care to explain?

Explain?

Sure. We do not need antibiotics. We never have.

I’ve used Carvacrol for infections all of my life. My mother’s family have used oregano and Garlic successfully since Yeshua walked the Canaret.

Willful ignorance is neither “science,” nor “technology.” Its stupidity.
