The troops on both sides should have mutinied and shot all of the generals. ................................ Armies don’t start wars, Politicians do, and Monarchies are also politician ruled. Generals follow the orders of the rulers. There was no reason for all to enter into a world war because of a single political assassination. Did we declare war on Libya because of Stevens? Did NATO get involved? Insanity, generations wasted for WW I stupidity. Then they punish the losers by taking their over seas possessions, in a grab of greed? WW II and the WW I victors ended up losing all they had grabbed and then most of their own colonies, if not all, after the WW II ended. Some may say they got what they deserved in the end. To me it was a bunch of white guys trying wipe themselves out on the European continent. I often wonder had those wars never happened, could we have had a cure for cancer in the 50’s? Maybe the cure was lost in the trenches of Verdun or on the beach of Normandy?
