No money for the athletes whom produce the tens of millions of dollars but scholarships for gamers. Is there a Nick Saban of eSports?

It’s no more a “sport” than chess, trivial pursuit or rock em sock em robots.

I would suggest that, within our lifetime, people who play video games will be treated like sports athletes.

We're almost there. Look at music today, people worship these DJs who do nothing more than press a few buttons.

Huh? They already do. There’s Dota 2, Starcraft, LoL, and plenty others. Last year’s Dota championship had a prize pool of over $20Mil.

For people who play these games, there’s plenty of the starry-eyed stupidity over meeting or seeing some of the players.

Almost there?

We've already Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and streamed it live on Twitch.

Twitch is to gaming what MTV was to music. Now youtube is doing livestreams.

There are many superstars in the gaming world that are making 5 and 6 figure incomes doing nothing but playing games and filming them and either streaming them live or editing them and uploading to youtube.

When they appear at gaming conventions and live events they are mobbed for autographs and selfie pics. Google PewDiePie and Nova Patra to get an idea (warning make sure you have your search engine set to safe if you are at work or don't want to look at shocking images/videos.)
