For the biology-challenged NCAA, you can take the tournaments out of North Carolina but the best college basketball programs in America still call Tobacco Road home.
Actually, IMO, the 1st half was pretty good, except that Karnowski pretty much stunk it up. But the 2nd half was scratch and claw all the way (and Karnowski was even worse, for the Zags.)
OTOH, Williams-Goss’ misses at the end were understandable - he was trying to play on a just-turned bad ankle, and both his shots were short. He had no “lift”. IMO, even tho’ he was hot, I think Gonzaga should have had him drive and pass, but that didn’t happen.
Hahahahahaha, the immortal cry of all losers, the refs did it.
You are SO right. That is the question which SHOULD be asked.
Big white dude could not make a shot.
The NCAA does not want a West coast team, or a non-major conference to win the championship. Its a shame, because it would be more exciting, if they allowed it.
Never doubt that the NCAA is pissed that North Carolina won this Championship. It is a major slap in the face of the NCAA which has spent a full year and tons of time and money trying to destroy the State because it had the balls to stand up to the NCAA.
The Russians hacked the game. How can you miss the obvious.
Anyone who thinks rooting for UNC somehow is associated with conservatism is a fool.
The school is a new age mecca laden with lefty socialism thick as a bowl of day old oatmeal.
I despise them...to make it worse, the university owned many slaves at one time, so is y our typical liberal-in denial university of lefty racists...oh, don’t get me started on their feminist causes and planned parenthood associations.
For anyone who is black to even attend there or play basketball for them is a disgrace. If you think I am exaggerating, the do your own due diligence. I am 100% accurate. Oh, no, they aren’t all like that, so that doesn’t fly. UNC is from like 1793.
No, not a Duke fan, I root against them.
They need to attend to their core function. Defending the concept of the scholar-athlete.
Everything to do with "higher education" is infested with queers and groups trying to destroy America.
(Yes, there are minor exceptions)
However, nearly everyone in Raleigh worships the almighty dollar.
What is the size of the TV market in Spokane WA?
nothing to do with losing..the referee’s effed up the flow of play by calling too many cheap fouls...ruined what should have been a great matchup
Tarheel Schadenfreude !!!!....Love it!

Hey 2 time AFL champs led by Jack Kemp in 64 and 65. :)
It was a great year for the Zags, an historic season without a doubt. The team did us proud all year long, and our best days are in front of us.
We had one Academic All American in Nigel Williams-Goss, and a couple that made the conference all academic team. We consistently max the academic performance standards established by the NCAA.
It's going to take another day or two to get over it, but the Zags are loaded for the next 2-3 years. Five, maybe six of our 8 man rotation return next year, and we have a couple of stellar redshirts that will contribute. No doubt there will be a stud graduate transfer or two who will want to join our winning program and play in March.
A 50,000+SF training facility is under construction as well. I think it's safe to say we are one of the "Big Dogs" in college basketball.
Just so proud of these young men, gave us many hours of thrills over these 39 games this season.
Biggest thrill for me was our trip to Nashville for the Tennessee game in December. All 3 of my boys made the trip, my two sons (28 & 15) and 6 YO grandson. My grandson was part of the halftime entertainment, featuring a "slam dunk" contest with two other boys. It was great fun, and a memorable moment for us.
Unlike the "blue blood" programs, Zag basketball is a journey, not a destination. It's just that we went a bit farther this year.
By the time this “investigation” is completed, no punishment will be meted. Too much money involved here, and the length of time elapsed will bring out calls that any punishment would be “unfair to current athletes.”
UNC did not shoot well at all, but shot a lot. So how do you win shooting 30% and even 15% from the 3...they picked it up on defense, and had a record low 4 turn overs. Largely stayed out of foul trouble, enough to keep the big guys in. Which in turn put em in position for the last two keys shots. 2+ foul by J Jackson. And winning shot by I Hicks. BOTH great feeds by unsung hero, Theo
At crunch time UNC got their act together for a 2 minute spurt and did what was
necessary to win the game. Overall I wasn’t impressed by either team’s play.
A couple of baskets, missed or made could have changed the outcome but thats
history now.
