Many jurisdictions have laws that prevent people from being masked in public. From what I’ve seen it is infrequently enforced.

Really? How about just a cursory glance at the article before posting. All but one of these comments completely misses the premise of the article. As I suspected - I would probably have joined them.
These “fans” are protesting the banning of face masks by wearing hijabs which are allowed.

If the group involved was politically unacceptable, it would be enforced immediately with great prejudice. Most of those laws were specifically written to prevent the KKK from appearing in their hoods.
