The Georgia Department of Transportation said it will take at least several months to repair Interstate 85, where an intense fire caused a section of the elevated northbound lanes to collapse during the Thursday evening rush hour.

Move the Capital too.
That's one reason I hate to drive on overpasses or underpasses. Or go through tunnels...but that's another story.
An under-bridge meth lab?
If someone were to do that, which seems unlikely, yes that could generate enough heat to start the fire.
Hope you are retired if you don’t know what fiberoptic conduit is. https://www.google.com/search?q=fiberoptic+conduit&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
IS the old mental hospital still available to house the politicians?
fiberoptic cable is for data transmission, it is not conduit.
A homeless man's dream.
Yes there was. TONS and TONS of PLASTIC. Plastic is made of ....... oil.
You run fiber through conduit.
Note to self. Don't hire ex navy electricians to run cable around the house.
Fiberoptic cable is surrounded by a plastic piping. Electrical power wiring is surrounded by a metal piping.
BOTH serve the same purpose. Both are called CONDUIT.
They say the taxpayers are going to get stuck with the bill for the repairs. They ought to look to the owners who stored their flammable substances improperly, and the City of Atlanta who didn’t do anything about it.
And fiberoptic cables are run in bundles, and the bundles are inside a plastic outer piping which is called a CONDUIT.
Agreed. Probably arson. Gonna be a mess in Atlanta for a while.
You ripping off folks by using metal electrical conduit when there is cheaper non-metalic electrical conduit available? Or is your training so far out of date that you haven’t kept up with modern materials? PVC appears to be the most common material used for non-metallic ELECTRICAL CONDUIT.
“Several Months” doesn’t sound bad at all.
Here in Springfield MA, the highway overpass repair is taking several decades.
“How the hell do you burn down an overpass or elevated highway? Its concrete and steel. Theres not much there to burn.”
“Watch and become Wise, Grasshopper!” :-)
