This old Army guy doesn't know much about the Marines.But if a guy washes out of recruit training (Army,Navy,Air Force *or* Marines) he she can't credibly claim "membership".

It's my understanding that Marines,once having completed recruit training,are presented with a black globe & anchor,which acknowledges successful completion.If Dan Blather didn't last long enough to get one....
