But, yes, I hope that is just what the balsy Hungarians did/do. Thanks! Fabulous story on wikepedia.

LOL...I was raised knowing who those two wonderful men were and learned some of their poems. :-)

When the first groups of Hungarians came to this country, they learned English, fell in love with this nation, most became avid GOP voters ( in NYC...no less ), and formed an ethnic fraternal and charitable society, named after Petofi. I grew up seeing a small statue of him at my grandparent's home and was taken to visit, many times, the HUGE bronze statue of Kossuth, in the park on Riverside Drive, not far from Grant's Tomb, which I also liked to visit.

One can keep one's heritage, ca,ll oneself only an AMERICAN, but still keep parts of one's heritage alive through food, dance, music, and poetry. :-)

I'm sorry that I sent you looking for who they were, but VERY happy that you DID look them up and learn a little bit about Hungary and WHY Orban is following in their footsteps and WHY the Hungarian people are refusing to be over run by Muslim FILTH; yet again.
