I had also thought of the Foundation series as being a kind of outline of how the globalists might want to seek power behind the scenes to establish a world order.
I hadn’t thought of Trump as the Mule, but it’s an interesting comparison....
That chart shows why we get less goods for more money.
I always thought that Obama was the Mule.
A fun radio version of the Foundation:

I compared Trump to the Mule in Feb of last year so I have empathy with the author. Though the analogies can be carried too far.
“I always thought that Obama was the Mule.”
The Mule is an independent minded person able to make great change.
Let’s be honest, Obama made many changes, but he was just a patsy for the deep state.
“I hadnt thought of Trump as the Mule, but its an interesting comparison....”
To understand Trump, look to his enemies - deep state operatives everywhere working for globalist billionaires
(Soros, etc.) who want a world empire unhindered by national borders.
“Though the analogies can be carried too far.”
True, but overall, I thought this essay was an excellent read. Especially in regards to the dire circumstances our nation is currently facing.
It’s an interesting chart except one thing, I would much rather live today than in 1913.
Even though the purchasing power has declined, a dollar can buy a more quality standard of living today than before. Of course, much of that is due to the infrastructure and investment made in the past.
All according to plan. Inflation is the great friend of the banking class financial manipulators and the great enemy of middle class savers.
For those who know Donald Trump before running for President, they know he thought about becoming President long ago, and entertained the idea of running in 2012 but deferred to Romney. He wasn't just a "frivolous" reality TV star, he was raising concerns about the state of our nation decades ago. He didn't just "wake up" a couple years ago to seek the presidency.
“I always thought that Obama was the Mule.”
I had largely forgotten the Foundation Trilogy until I read this and the preceding Foundation 1 article (also an excellent read).
He’s also an incredibly accomplished business man.
“Frivolous reality TV star” is how most of his political opponents viewed him - much to their chagrin as Trump went on to win.
“Its an interesting chart except one thing, I would much rather live today than in 1913.”
Agreed, mostly due to technology.
As did I.

Yes, it's a good chart. I'd like to see a companion chart showing the ever-higher taxation over the years, versus the decline of value of the dollar. They're linked. Takes ever more months to earn money to pay taxes than it did in the past. Taxes includes all types of money taken by government including ever-higher fees that didn't exist in the past. So not only does our dollar buy less, but we have to give up a much higher percentage of that dollar to the government.
I agree. I read the Foundation Trilogy many years ago. I thought Asimov based his work on Gibbon’s Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. But the parallels to the decline and fall of the American Empire are well taken.
