“pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs”

Hmmm.

Second article today I’ve seen on the previously little known pharmacy benefit managers.

This sort of things raises my propaganda detector shields.

And the other article was from the always anti-capitalist Zero Hedge.

Whenever I see what looks like a concerted effort in the media like this, my suspicions are raised.

Adam Smith would have been a trust buster, as it was primarily capitalism with competition that he sought, and whenever competition was hindered by trusts and monopolies he warned it was capitalism with small c, as if for the big trusts and monopolies but not for the market in general.

While it is true that most trusts and monopolies, due to the internal contradiction between them and truly free markets, often produce market constraints that lead to other innovating ways over, under & around them, that is not a reason to think they are “good” in the meantime.
