Oh jeez. Anyone that understands orbital mechanics would know instantly why this idea is borderline retarded.
Anything that is in orbit is in an equilibrium between its forward velocity and freefall towards the center of the gravity well. Dropping an anchor into the atmosphere would be one of the quickest ways imaginable to destroy that equilibrium.
Why is always the people who don’t seem to have bothered to learn basic science that want to tell the rest of us we should “aim high”? Learn the basics first before you try that, or you’re going to shoot yourself in the foot.
