Construction time lapse during various salient moments of assembly. Fascinating, especially when they drop what looks like the core in at the end.

That is called the pressure vessel.
The core goes inside of that.

The Pacific will survive Fukashima just fine. There are something like four billion tons of uranium in sea water already. Naturally.

Local effects on the other hand may be more noticeable.

Near beautiful Waynesboro, Ga.

I occasionally ride through there when traveling from Savannah to Augusta (and back).

It’s a forest of temporary travel trailers and semi permanent housing for construction workers.

Having lived down river from the Savannah River Site, we aren’t too worried about this one.
