Name one huge government redistribution program that has ever been repealed.

If it weren’t for the tweets (and the distraction they have caused), this vote would be over and on its way to the Senate.

Dan I think you need to look to your left and see if there is anyone over there. I suspect not.

I’m kinda leaning that way too.

It might be better to have clinics for people who cannot afford to have an individual plan. My mom went to a great doctor in her later years; he had a specialty for Seniors who received a low Social Security allotment. My mom could go there and receive an exam - and he would accept her Medicare as full payment. It was usually just for a bad cold, or something minor.

The other thing that might be helpful is to require people who get assistance to attend training classes - in order to quality for the benefit, such as: safe food preparation; proper use of medicines; personal care, etc.; and have the people receive a booklet regarding what they had learned that week (as a reminder). Have them keep a chart. You’d be amazed at the difference it makes to their lives when they see they can learn new things which will help them to have a better life. Plus, they used to hand out bath soap/gel, which had been donated by the makers of the items.

Years ago, Santa Clara County, CA used to have the best programs. They even gave training (free), to help you find a job - but the classes were a requirement to get the benefit. Then, you were required to do a mock interview - on video - and the group would make comments. It was like a light came on with some of them .. they could see why being clean, dressed in clean clothes, being polite, smiling, etc., was an asset to getting a job. It was awesome to watch their faces when they realized being prepared gave you a better chance of getting a good job.

I’m glad to see that the new healthcare law has put back into the program - YOU HAVE TO SEEK WORK IN ORDER TO GET BENEFITS. It was Bill Clinton’s admin who got rid of the “work” requirement .. and that’s when all these loafers got onto the welfare rolls - because they didn’t have to work to get it.

10 million might lose their health insurance, but that doesn't stop them from getting health care. If you are paying $1000 a month for O'Care, there's $12,000 you don't spend on insurance but can spend on health care.

Hospitals still can't turn you away.

Entitlements might be hard to take away, but it's about time we figured out how to do it. Otherwise, we should just give up on the idea of a free society, and join the march to the Brave New World Order.

I don’t understand why the gubmint has to be involved in healthcare to begin with.

Who is stopping anyone from buying health ins??? If you can’t afford it, why is that MY problem?

They are terrified of having their side incomes reduced and of being primaried by Soros while their own funding disappears next time around.

They’re afraid of their own shadows.

When the Demorats get on control again - and they will - they won’t hesitate to take steps to ensure a 2016 NEVER happens to them again.

NONONONONONO!!!! just zero out the government involvement in medicine and insurance. The market will do more to “level” the playing field than any government program which must ultimately level the field by putting it out of reach to all but the elite.
